CUF was established in the year 1999, by the trio of Mr. Prabhu Tendulkar, Dr. Birmole, and (Late) Mr. Gallyot. Now there are 63 members in the organization serving dedicatedly to society.

CLEAN, BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY, AND SAFE PANVEL are the pillars of all our activities in the organization.

Citizens’ Unity Forum (prominently known as CUF Panvel) has done numerous activities in areas like civics issues, health care, cultural, environmental, women empowerment and gathering of citizens, and donating funds for other NGOs and needy people. Since the inception of this forum, we have created awareness among the citizens about their civic amenities and rights. We have been working as the backbone of democracy and social justice for the citizens in Panvel. Our primary responsibilities include regular follow-ups for water supply, cleanliness, health hazards, drainage facilities, roads, traffic, transport facilities, and all the amenities that are entitled to the citizens by our Government. The Citizens Unity Forum mediates and adjudicates civic life with the Government authorities to get the best outcomes for our fellow citizens. Panvel being the first Municipal Corporation in the Raigad district needs the utmost precise governance and awareness from the citizens. This city with an area of 110.06 km2, needs to have massive infrastructures to sustain its daily operation. We work with citizens and citizen groups to make it possible that Government agencies to pay heed to citizens' voices or any inconvenience that they face.
